I'm a daughter of a West Point Lt Colonel. I have long background in lifeguarding and rescue swimming. The Coast Guard is the single most difficult service branch I believe.
Semper Paratus.

No women? What a shame. Im an open water ocean swimmer and regularly swim 3 miles in rough surf here in Florida. God bless our Coast Guard!

The sandpiper was actually a stolen vessel, the person being rescued was the thief. Before it was stolen the person put a dead fish at The Goonies house.
Never knew of these guy thank you for your service you learn something new everyday
Coast Guard badass 💪🏼
Endless Conformity slavery. Humanity is doomed.
Trigger warning: BAD SWIM at 11:15. 60 Minutes glazes over it, but those of us who know, this looks absolutely terrifying
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Awesome God Bless the Coast Guard ❤
Trump wants to turn the valve and divert all the water coming down from Canada and send it all the way to Southern California instead of just being dumped into the ocean.
It’s funny that they didn’t report on the guy that they saved on the motor yacht at the end of the video. That guy had actually stolen that yacht. It was all over our local news.
I don't do the ocean. Hell no
❤️🍀👍
Thank goodness there are people like this in this world ❤️ 🙏
The U.S Coast Guard is very powerful
I was curious as to how the percentages play when it comes to causes of incidents. Lack of experience, poor judgement calls, weather that goes south, equipment breakdowns. Do people that have to take boating safety classes?
Thats sooo corny i surf that all day bro
I commend our US Coast Guard and all military service members. And forgive me as I do not know the interviewer from 60 minutes as he is the only legitimate interviewer from that show seen in 15 years
The Americans are one of the newest Nations.
Amateurs in The WORLD'S OCEANS AND SEAS
As a prior enlisted paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne, it pisses me off to no end that people make fun of the Coast Guard. Our military operate successfully because we work in conjunction with others and we do not let petty s*** get in the way of our job and duties.
I'm surprised they are saying "driving the boat". You drive a car, and you sail a boat and fly a plane. You don't drive a plane or boat.
I sailed in college, and the Coast Guard has gotten some of my friends out of some really bad situations. They are great people, smart, brave and very well trained.
I lived in Astoria, OR for a few years and we used to watch ships crossing the bar in heavy seas, they actually would close the bar. Sometimes we'd see the coasties on the bar, squaring up.
I also lived in La Push, WA where the Quilete River station is located. I had to use their fax machine to send fish catch info. to Olympia. I used to hang out with the coasties and got to know a few. Nice guys and always professionals. It was a long time ago.
