Man, this is an awesome movie. I love these old black-and-white murder mystery movies. But I didn't know that George Raft was that short!
Enjoyed this movie, thanks very much.
Nothing like a man who can spend days tracking thru a jungle island and never get a wrinkle in his suit. Ahhh
Will geer The Walton’s. Is the cop.
Good story, setup and snappy dialog, change of pace from usual gangster film with bad guy hunting victims for sport. Inspired probably from "A Most Dangerous Game" a 30's thriller judged by Spielberg as probably the most action packed 60 minutes on film. Eccentric hunter on island traps victims and hunts them down. In a similar ending falls out of a high window and is eaten by wolves. Here, Raft pushes him off a cliff, acceptable to the censors, less gory and violent. Screen writer at Columbia adapted elements from that film to build an exciting conclusion on a budget. I noticed Raft never gets his suit jacket dirty.
George Raft. James Cagney. Edward G Robinson. Humphrey bogart. All dwarf tough guys. What’s up with that. George raft is the funniest. Normal sized head. Short ass legs and arms.
John Garfield and George Raft are two of my favorite male actors. If either is a part of a movie, it's worth watching.
