Christmas Storm Approaching BC Coast; Ferries Cancelled and Rain/Wind Warnings Issued

A winter storm is set to hit British Columbia’s South Coast on Christmas Day, causing residents to prepare for heavy rain and strong winds. Rainfall warnings have been issued for Metro Vancouver and Howe Sound, with precipitation expected to begin around midday on December 25th. As the weather system moves in, heavy rain is anticipated, potentially leading to slippery conditions over higher terrain above 300 meters in elevation. In addition, wind warnings have been issued for areas including the Sunshine Coast and eastern Vancouver Island, with BC Ferries warning of possible cancellations.
