It's not a country….
Keep up the amazing work Gabriel ❤❤🇮🇪
Welcome to Taiwan!
Hello, BGM could be better. Cheers!!
Developed and with buckets load of culture 👍
Pagodas very Cool 👍👍👍
Taiwan looks like a neat place with a lot to offer
I hope it stays under the radar for a while.
It's a country IMHO, as evidenced by having a government, court system, independent of any outside forces?
loving your vlogs
I believe Laozi or Lao Tzu is the man worshipped in Daoism. He is not really a god or a saint, but more like a philosopher like Confucius. Its about following "the way" of the universe. As far as I understand it, sometimes quite literally, like in the saying: Its not about the destination but rather how you get there. Which would make it quite interesting for a traveler to get in to!
the walkway is zigzaging is base on the ancient belief that evil won't catch up with , you can see many similar bridge construction in se asia, that's a "medicine temple" you can actually get a prescription from up above, I mean.. look at the little drawers at the side, you have to toss out a number to match it though.
I’ve been a few times with work. Surprised to see that has been regarded as “underrated” if I’m honest 😬.
Funny story about the China- Taiwan situation. So, I was in China like 15 years ago. And unfortunately lost my Lonely Planet guide. I believe I left it by accident in a train or taxi or something after a chaotic situation. So I bought a new one, I think in Shanghai, which is of course a huge city so quite easy to find an English copy. So, when I checked the overview map of China I noticed something strange. Between China and Taiwan there was this strange white streak, like from correction fluid like Tipp-Ex. So, apparantly, the Lonely Planet had taken a map that showed border markers between the two places and quite obviously some Chinese governmental department went through the trouble of removing these markers in Lonely Planet guides or possibily even all Western maps in the country. Now thats dedication…
Thank You Gabriel for Another Awesome Adventure. That was so Cool walking through that Dragon Beautiful Craftsmanship on all their Temples and Buildings.🙂💙👍
The temples and pagodas looks like it was taken out of the "Enter the Dragon" movie. Amazing!
happy to go through your vlogs
much kindness 👣💥
Thank you, wish I were there, living with heart failure and you keep it pumping,Bless you!!😅😅
You said recently that you did not consider Taiwan a country. Now you are calling it a country 😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮
Beautiful place thanks Gabriel 😊
I hope they do not get in a conflict with China. My niece is there teaching English. I enjoy your travels.
Gabe – Will you be going to Alishan, you are not far? This is one of the highlights of Taiwan. Thanks.
🤩👍
Wow Gabe – amazing video! Thanks.
Hi Gabriel, that was incredibly fascinating: the Pagoda Towers, the Tiger, an Emblem of Courage and Protection, the Dragon, a Symbol of Strength and Wisdom, and the Yin and Yang. It was funny that toward the end of the video, you entered the building where they seemed to be indoctrinating the children. The music in the background was a soundtrack from the movie Patton is Entr' acte which I recognized as soon as I heard it.
The zig zag walkway stems from the belief that evil spirits can't follow a straight line. Almost everything in a formal Chinese garden is deliberately planned and has special significance. So much culture!
The title is the most controversial thing Gabriel has ever said
I don't have time to do a bit of research but by your description of the image that is being worshiped it sounds like the Jade Emperor who reigns over the Daoist Heaven.
Brilliant filming, sure it would be unforgettable. 😊
