Frontier Airlines is accelerating its push into the Mexican Caribbean with a combination of new spring 2026 routes and a broad existing network of 14 U.S. cities offering nonstop flights to Cancún International Airport (CUN). The move comes as the carrier rolls out its “New Frontier” strategy, combining ultra-low fares with new product upgrades ahead of an expected surge in leisure demand next year.
In an announcement dated December 4, 2025, Frontier confirmed it will launch 23 new routes in 2026, including nonstop services to Cancún from Charlotte, Chicago Midway, and Raleigh–Durham, timed specifically for the spring break period. “As we look ahead to 2026, there’s a lot to be excited about—from our expanding network to the introduction of our new First Class seats and more – and we’re thrilled to kick things off with the announcement of these new routes, giving travelers even more affordable options as they plan their spring breaks next year,” said Josh Flyr, vice president of network and operations design at Frontier Airlines.
New Spring 2026 Frontier Routes to Cancún
The latest expansion positions Cancún as one of the primary international winners in Frontier’s 2026 network map. According to Frontier’s official press release and subsequent coverage, the following new routes will launch in early March 2026:
- Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) – Cancún (CUN)
- Start date: March 6, 2026
- Frequency: 3x weekly
- Introductory fares from about $99 one-way*
- Chicago Midway International Airport (MDW) – Cancún (CUN)
- Start date: March 7, 2026
- Frequency: Weekly service
- Introductory fares from about $99 one-way*
- Raleigh–Durham International Airport (RDU) – Cancún (CUN)
- Start date: March 7, 2026
- Frequency: Weekly service

These services mirror returns from Cancún back to each city, effectively adding capacity in both directions during the critical March–April holiday window. In parallel, Frontier is promoting sale fares from $39 on selected domestic routes, using the Cancún add-ons as a flagship example of its new cross-border leisure push.
