By two thousand eleven, the oyster population had crashed to just zero point three percent of what it once was, and the Bay began breaking down with it. The water, grasses, crabs, and fish were all paying the price. So crews began rebuilding the bottom itself, dumping billions of oysters onto giant stone reefs. Ten years later, something unbelievable was growing back underwater.
