The Kids Chose Not to Go to Japan So They Could Do This
In a heartwarming twist on the typical spring break getaway, our kids decided to forgo a trip to Japan in favor of a cherished local tradition: a spring theater production right here in Hawaii. This year, the stage was set for Lewis Carroll’s beloved classic, Alice in Wonderland, and our little stars—Dorothy as Alice, Manilla as the Rabbit, and Cali as Tweedledee—shone brightly.
Special thanks to our generous friend Catalina for sharing her incredible talents with the cast and crew, helping to bring this play to life. The joy and excitement our children feel while performing are palpable, making it clear why this has become an annual highlight for them. They eagerly anticipate spring break for the chance to act, bond with their friends, and immerse themselves in the enchanting world of theater.
As we watch them embrace the magic of the stage, we’re reminded of the importance of community and creativity, and how these experiences shape not only their talents but also their imaginations. Every moment spent in rehearsal and performance is a treasure, and we are grateful to be part of this vibrant journey.
And here’s a little teaser: keep an eye on what we’re wearing in the video; it might just offer a hint of what’s to come as we count down the days to June 1. Enjoy the show!
