Luis Miguel will go on tour next year, and the announcement set social media ablaze on Monday (Sept. 21). The Mexican superstar thrilled his fans by sharing a photo featuring his face and the caption “Luis Miguel Tour 2027” from his official account. The extensive 2027-2028 tour will be produced by Fenix Entertainment, the company confirmed to Billboard.
Fenix Entertainment’s global agreement with the artist for 2027 and 2028 will continue following the successful 2023-2024 tour, which became the highest grossing tour of all time by a Latin artist, earning $318.2 million and selling 2.2 million tickets across its first 146 shows, according to figures reported to Billboard Boxscore.
Among the thousands of messages reacting to Monday’s announcement from El Sol de México, one that stood out was from American actor Rob Schneider, who responded with a playful message in Spanish asking for more details about the tour: “Am I buying tickets now?? Luis, where’s the website for tickets? MUCHOS GRACIAS!!” Meanwhile, Colombian musician Manuel Medrano replied to the post with a request: “Take me to open the tour, Uncle Luis Mi.”
Prior to announcing his new tour, the “La Incondicional” singer became the face of a Coca-Cola promotional campaign in July to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the company’s arrival in Mexico. Thirty-five years earlier, the superstar had participated in another advertising campaign for the brand under the concept “Vive la sensación” (“Live the Feeling”).
Luis Miguel’s most recent tour kicked off successfully in August 2023, with 10 concerts at the Movistar Arena in Buenos Aires followed by another 10 at the same venue in Santiago, Chile. Those initial 20 dates generated a total of $28.1 million and sold 227,000 tickets, making it the third highest grossing tour of his remarkable career, according to numbers reported to Billboard Boxscore. After that, he toured the U.S., Mexico and Latin America, returned to the U.S., headed to Spain and most recently, made his way back to Latin America.
During this period, the singer also made history at the Arena Ciudad de México by becoming the first artist to perform 18 dates of a single tour at the venue, which had been inaugurated a decade earlier. Additionally, he performed for the first time at the Estadio GNP Seguros in Mexico City on two historic nights, Nov. 30 and Dec. 1, 2024.
Luis Miguel has captivated multiple generations with his unparalleled voice, unique style and stage presence, solidifying his status as one of the most beloved Latin artists of all time. He has been honored with numerous awards, including Billboard Latin Music Awards, Grammys and Latin Grammys. His discography is among the most acclaimed in the industry, with his album Romance selling more than 15 million copies. Before Shakira’s Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran, he held the record for the longest tour by a Latin artist. Additionally, he remains the singer with the most performances at the Auditorio Nacional, one of the most important cultural venues in Mexico and Latin America.
