The highly anticipated return of the Honda Civic Hybrid is finally here for the 2025 model year and it is better than ever. Once the second best-selling hybrid vehicle in the U.S., the Civic Hybrid left the lineup before the 10th generation model, but it is now making a comeback. MotorWeek’s Jessica Ray recently had the opportunity to drive the reborn model for the first time in Montreal, Canada.
The 2025 Civic Hybrid is powered by a 2.0L 4-cylinder engine paired with two electric motors, producing 200 horsepower and 232 lb-ft of torque. The powertrain is efficient, with an impressive estimated fuel economy of 50 mpg city, 47 mpg highway, and 49 mpg combined. The driving experience is smooth and quiet, with responsive acceleration and a comfortable ride quality.
In addition to its hybrid powertrain, the 2025 Civic lineup features small exterior updates, a range of tech-savvy features, and Honda Sensing as standard. The interior is familiar yet refined, with various trim levels offering different levels of luxury and technology. Pricing for the Civic Hybrid starts at $29,845 for the Sport trim and $32,400 for the Sport Touring trim.
The Civic Hybrid sedan is set to arrive in dealerships this month, with hatchback models expected later this summer. Overall, the return of the Civic Hybrid is a highly anticipated development in the automotive world, offering consumers a more eco-friendly and efficient option in the popular Civic lineup.
