Placerias vs. Celophysis: A Battle for Triassic Survival
In the turbulent landscape of ancient Pangea, a dramatic evolutionary shift unfolds as we delve into the fierce rivalry between the ancient herbivore Placerias and its predatory counterpart, Celophysis. Set against the backdrop of the western hills of Pangea, the narrative transports us to a time when massive creatures like Placerias dominated, their colossal forms grazing on the lush flora. However, as the environment transforms and competition increases, the predominance of these gentle giants faces an imminent challenge. The age of dinosaurs is dawning, and with it comes a new predator poised to reshape the ecosystem.
Enter Celophysis, a swift and agile dinosaur that embodies the predatory evolution of the era. This is so nostalgic 🤩😁! I loved watching this series as a kid😄. I remember that when I saw Placerias on screen for the first time, I thought it was related to the ceratopsian dinosaurs 😅😂, until the narrator said they weren't related to dinosaurs at all.
Wow, Who Would Win: Placerias Vs Coelophysis!

Come on, BBC…. that's not how you spell Coelophysis, in the title.
This series describing Placerías as a “reptile” shows how much our understanding of synapsids has grown in a couple decades.
Back when Synapsids were called reptiles
Life in the UK.
Please upload more of these. Younger generations won’t be able to appreciate them like we did back when if they’re not shared again now. Thank you kindly BBC Earth.
„Never will life be This large“
What a huge missed opportunity tho to leave out the Triassic like that with the newer show, same with the Jurassic and most other continents
How did they make the CGI model even interact with the lung fish puppet? Some kind of really thin strings?
Why do documentary channels treat YouTube like its TV Farming ad revenue? Stop reposting the old video clips please we don't need reruns that's what the video library is for.
Still BETTER than 2025 ver
What we want is just a remastered version where they go through and modernize the CGI
❤😊🙋♂️🤗
